Uma Gahd

Uma Gahd is featured in Canada’s Drag Race s5 and has a drag career spanning over a decade! She is the Artistic Director for House of Gahd.

Uma Gahd is everyone’s favourite unofficial Auntie. A Broadway babe with a penchant for classic pop culture, she has graced stages across Montreal (including Bar Le Cocktail, Cafe Cléo, Cabaret Mado, and even the illustrious Centaur Theatre!) with her high energy, high concept, and high-larious numbers and hosting! She has written and performed 6 original plays (winners of multiple awards and nominations), including her one-woman show Are You There Margaret? It's Me, Gahd which was in Edinburgh Fringe 2023 and Puerto Vallarta for a one month residency in 2020.

She is the CEO for House of Gahd. She will cut a deal with the devil and come out victorious; she is… The mistress of business.

With over 20 years of experience as a queer community leader from queer helplines to drag story times. She has been producing, managing and performing in the drag world for a decade and has worked on many of the biggest stages and festivals including: Just for Laughs, Comiccon (Montréal and Québec), Otakuthon, Saggeek, G-anime, Centaur Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe, OFFTA, Montreal Fringe, Bagel Burlesque Expo, and more. You have probably also seen her on TV or on the web collaborating with the SAQ.

Selma Gahd is also a public speaker, photographer, manager, event planner and coordinator and marketer. Psst… she’s also a huge geek and gamer.
